Ha, just got tagged by Rashenbo. I did this meme a few weeks ago, but I'm happy to do it again. I'll even change some of my answers, hee hee, at least the ones I can change and still be an honest girl.

Oooh, the Trans-Siberian Railroad! Sign me up! Or better yet, let's ditch the husbands and you and me go! I can read Cyrillic! (Don't know what it says, but hey-- I can sound out the words, even if I don't know what they mean!)

Here's a book for you: The Lost Children, by Jane Swan. It's out of print, but so worth the trouble of getting your hands on a copy!

It's the story of 800 children sent from Petrograd to the Ural mountains to enjoy the country air and escape the fighting during the Russian Revolution. They became trapped by the fighting and had to make their way home by circumnavagating the globe under the care of the Red Cross.

They took the Trans-Siberian Railroad to Vladivostok (hence my interest in the RR), and from there went to Japan, San Francisco, the Panaman Canal, New York City, Scandinavia, and finally home... to a communist nation that restricted their movements for the rest of their lives.

Anyway, it's a darn good read, and a fine little addition to any existing knowledge you may have about the Trans-Siberian.

Let me know when to get my ticket! LOL!

Wow, bunnygirl -- The Lost Children sounds like a great book. I'll have to hunt down a copy!

Neat that you can read Cyrillic! That's one of the things I'd like to learn to do, in addition to learning to speak Russian.

And yeah, I'm ready to roll -- let's you and I go on the railroad, LOL! :-D

YOUR A BLACKADDER FAN TOO!

OMG, I rarely run into BA fans. I loved it when I was in high school, had a huge crush on Hugh Laurie.

Speaking of Russia, I am doing historical research for a new WIP idea I have. Something to do with the far North forested area known as the Tayga.

If you're working on a synopsis and need fresh eyes, I'm here. I think I've actually figured the whole synopsis thing out ... but if I did I don't know how I did.

Oh, oh, oh! I'm coming too!!! Don't let the train leave without me. As an added bonus, I grew up in a Ukrainian household (very similar to Russian), so I know how to pronounce/interpret the names of foods and am happy to report that I know most of the swear words. :)
And 'The Lost Children' sounds like an excellent read. I, too, shall try to hunt up a copy. - thanks bunnygirl

Neat-o, a fellow Blackadder fan!! I'm excited! :) Rowan Atkinson slays me in that role -- he's hilarious as Mr. Bean, too, and oh dear, how one fellow can play both Edmund Blackadder and Mr. Bean so well -- what a delightfully talented guy!

And how cool that you're researching Russia / the Tayga in connection with your new WIP.

Thank you so much for your offer to read my synopsis -- yes, I would indeed very much appreciate a fresh set of eyes. I'll be sending you an email!

Oh, cool -- yeah, Wylie, get on that train and we'll go! How fun it would be. :)

That's really neat you grew up in a Ukranian household and and can interpret and pronounce the names of foods -- food, very important! -- and oh my goodness, swear words! I just love to learn swear words in new languages. 8-) Of course on such a lovely trip we'd probably have very little to swear about, LOL!

Oh, we'll be swearing when they don't bring the sour cream for our Varenyka!! ;D

Yeah, Wylie, there ya go! :-D
